just playing around with icebox cookies ヾ(。◕ฺ∀◕ฺ)ノ… i didn’t think this was a nice set of sunflowers because i laid the log horizontally in the fridge when chilling… so if you like to make this, do chill placing the log vertical so you get a nice round log (* >ω<)… another decoration idea is to insert a pretzel stick into the cookie just after removing from oven… then stand it in a baked chocolate cupcake ヾ(。◕ฺ∀◕ฺ)ノ… just so many ways to beautify the house with your own bakes… isn’t it exciting? о(ж>▽<)y ☆
Ingredients (makes 60 pieces)
180g softened butter
90g icing sugar
20g egg yolk
35g almond meal
180g cake flour
35g pumpkin seeds
15g cocoa powder
10g pumpkin powder

黄油 180克,软化
糖粉 90克
蛋黄 20克
杏仁粉 35克
蛋糕粉 180克
葵花籽 35克
可可粉 15克
南瓜粉 10克
Directions/做法
– Cream butter with sugar till soft and fluffy and add in egg yolk till well incorporated
黄油和糖混合打发至蓬松状后拌入蛋黄。拌匀
– sift in almond meal and cake flour and mix well
筛入杏仁粉和蛋糕粉、拌匀
– take 1/3 portion of the above dough and sift in pumpkin powder. mix well and chill for 30 mins
取三分之一面团,筛入南瓜粉。混合均匀后冷藏 30分钟
– sift in cocoa powder and place pumpkin seeds into the rest of the original dough and mix well. chill for 30 mins
剩余的面团里筛入可可粉并加入南瓜粉。拌匀、冷藏 30分钟
roll pumpkin dough into a 0.4 x 15 x 40cm rectangle sheet
南瓜面团擀开成 0.4 x 15 x 40厘米长形面片
roll cocoa dough into a 40cm length log (3cm in diameter). place both dough to chill for 30 mins
可可面团擀成 40厘米长(宽 3厘米)的圆柱。南瓜和可可面团冷藏 30分钟
brush pumpkin dough with a little bit of water and place cocoa log on the sheet
南瓜面片刷上少许水,摆上可可圆柱
roll it up and freeze dough for 30 mins
将其卷起、冷冻 30分钟
remove dough from freezer and slice into 0.5cm pieces
面团取出,切成 0.5厘米厚度的面片
using a 5cm fluted cookie cutter, cut each cookie into flower shape
运用 5厘米花边曲奇模具裁切出花边形状
bake in preheated oven with upper heat of 160 degrees C, and lower heat 150 degrees C for 20 mins
送入烤箱上火 160摄氏度、下火 150摄氏度烤 20分钟即可
Personal notes/温馨小贴士:
– i used flaked almonds (instead of pumpkin seeds) and crushed them a little before mixing into the dough
南瓜子我用了杏仁片替代。加入时稍微压碎
– i rolled my pumpkin sheet into a 0.6cm thick sheet and used a 4.6cm fluted cookie cutter
我将南瓜面团擀成 0.6厘米厚度的面片,并用了 4.6厘米花边曲奇模具
– my cookies were baked for 11 mins in preheated oven of 170 degrees C
曲奇用了预热至 170摄氏度烤箱烤了 11分钟

hi Phoebii, i stay in Beijing so will not know where best you can purchase at your area. but do try your local baking supplies store. it should be easily available as long as you stay in SEA. hope this helps
