ingredients (makes about 15)

850g potato
200g ground beef
2 tbsp chopped coriander
2 tbsp celery
2 tbsp fried shallots, mashed to small pieces
1/2 tsp ginger powder (ground ginger)

seasoning
sea salt
black pepper

finishing
1-2 egg *please refer to personal notes

土豆 850克
牛肉肉末 200克
剁碎香菜 2大匙
芹菜(切小颗粒) 2大匙
炸葱头 2大匙、捏碎
姜粉 1/2小匙

调味料
海盐
黑胡椒粉

收尾
鸡蛋 1-2 颗*请参考温馨小贴士

Directions/做法

peel and slice potato to 1cm thick slices
deep fry till cooked
i removed potatoes after they began to float to the surface
土豆削皮、切成 1厘米厚的薄片
炸至熟透
我的做法是:土豆片一浮面就捞起

drain potato slices then mash while they are still warm
set aside
土豆片沥干油份、趁还有余温压成泥
待用

quickly stir fry beef then add in celery
fry till beef is cooked and remove from heat
快速将肉末翻炒后加入芹菜
炒至肉沫熟透、起锅

add beef to mashed potato followed by chopped coriander and fried shallots
将肉末拌入土豆泥
加入香葱和炸葱头

add in seasoning and mix everything together
加入调味料后将所有食材拌匀

shape into individual portions
分割成等份

in a shallow hot pan, add oil to about 1cm high
place in potato cutlets and fry till base turns golden brown
flip cutlets and continue to fry till the other side is browned
热的煎锅内加入约 1厘米高的油量
码入土豆饼、煎至底部变金黄色后翻面
续炸至另一面也上色

drain cutlets on kitchen towel
将土豆饼沥干油份

bring oil in pan to boil over heat heat and place in cutlets again
fry for about 30 seconds then remove
drain on kitchen and serve!
煎锅内的油加热,再次加入土豆饼
翻炸约 30秒后即可捞起
沥干油份即可享用!

Personal notes/温馨小贴士:

IMG_2873– feel free to adjust chopped coriander/celery and fried shallots to individual preference
香菜、芹菜和炸葱头碎可随意做调整

– if you are not eating everything on the same day, you can shape and chill. coat wth egg and fry when you like to enjoy it (hence i indicate 1-2 eggs ~ i fried 7 this time and used only 1 egg. if you decide to fry everything, you will need 2 eggs)
如果整形后不立马使用可以先不炸。整形后冷藏。待享用前裹上蛋液再煎。(我今天煎了 7个土豆饼,用了一颗鸡蛋。如果您想一次过享用就需 2颗鸡蛋)

    Here in Indonesia they call it “Perkedel”, and yes it taste yummy! Sometimes when i dont have ground beef on my hand, i subtitute with sausages or beef corned, its delicious!
