bumble bee cupcakesi’d been messing around with my new Mac for the past couple of days. As the saying goes, never teach an old dog new tricks. How difficult is it? tough… I’d been getting my coach to teach me the techniques of Mac but i’m just not interested. As much as this 27inch bastard is an amazing addition to the house, it is bringing whole new change to my blogging, facebooking, and surfing habit. Oh well, good luck V… God speed..

I baked these cupcakes a couple of days back but yes, as I said, it took me a while to figure out how to use the Mac. And today, I decided to sit my big fat butt down to get this posted on my blog. When I started my blog, I told myself I will never ditch it… I still hope I will not.

These are just normal chocolate cupcakes, just that i added some caramel chips (compliments from the executive chef of St Regis) into each of them.. and then I topped them up with marshmallow frosting and fired them away with the kitchen torch. They look a tad messy… maybe I shouldn’t have used the wilton 2D tip and just pipe with normal round tip since I wanted to create a beehive effect… Bumble bees are made of fondant and almond slices.

Marshmallow frosting:
– 3 egg whites and 3/4 cup sugar

Directions:
whisk egg white with sugar in a bowl over a pot of simmering water until it reaches 71 degrees C.
Then put them in your mixer bowl and (I) whisk them on speed 8 (on KitchenAid) for around 7 minutes until they doubled in volume and achieved stiff peak. Scoop into piping bag and pipe away!
