100g dark chocolate creamy peanut butter (original flavour ok)
55g peanut oil
45g icing sugar, sifted
200g cake flour, sifted
1g baking powder
1 large pinch of salt

IMG_0838mix peanut butter and peanut oil together (no need to use electric mixer)

IMG_0839stir till well blended

IMG_0840add in sifted icing sugar in 2 additions and blend well

IMG_0841mix sifted flour, baking powder and salt together
add in 1/3 portion of dry ingredients to peanut butter mixture and fold well

IMG_0842change to a spatula and scrap bowl down

IMG_0843add in the remaining four and fold lightly

IMG_0844IMG_0845use your hands to knead the dough (lightly) till it comes together
stop mixing once dough comes together

IMG_0846roll dough into a square (i rolled mine into a 5 x 5 inch square)
chill for at least 1 hour

IMG_0853 IMG_0855place chilled dough on baking paper and divide into small squares
(i sliced mine into 1.5 x 1.5cm cubes)

IMG_0856shape each cube between your palm lightly (helps to smoothen sides)
bake in centre rack of 160 degrees C preheated oven for 35 mins
cool completely on wire rack before storing

Personal notes/

IMG_0862– flours have different liquid absorption characteristic. you may not need to use the entire 200g cake flour, hence do add the last portion of flour and stop once you get a soft dough (could be +/- 10g flour)

– if you feel your dough is getting too soft whilst shaping, do chill it (after shaping) for 20 mins before baking

Hi Victoria. I tried this recipie and it was really yummy. Sweetness is just nice . I couldn\’t get the dark choc peanut butter so I used the regular flavor. Just like what u said I have some flour left (about 20 gms). Question . mine cracked whilst baking. Is it because of too high temp or too much baking powder. I used 1/4 tsp bp as I don\’t have the measuring spoons for small weights. I have a digital scale but had problem weighing one gm. Do u know if I can get the measuring spoons for gms online. Thanks for

Hi Chloe, your feedback will help many readers, thank you very much. yes, am sure you can get measuring spoons very easily, especially in taboo (but you don\’t read chinese right?). do try your local baking supplies shop, you can definitely find one. BP will not be too big an issue here, it does make your bites more puffy and more \”out of shape\” as compared to one with lesser BP. more likely the temperature which probably needs to be adjusted in your case. hope this helps

Hi Victoria. Just to update. I bake another batch with lower temp and they had minimal fine hairline cracks only. Thanks for tips. This is so addictive! Thanks. Chloe
