your choice of doughnuts (i suggest plain, or matcha doughnuts since green tea pairs well with white chocolate)

white chocolate, melted
dark chocolate, melted

4 tsp espresso/instant coffee powder

almonds

4小匙浓缩咖啡粉/即溶咖啡粉

Directions/做法

IMG_9942use tip of knife to make 2 small slits on the top of doughnut
使用刀尖在甜甜圈顶部割开两条小缝隙

IMG_9944push almonds into the slits to make the ears (sharper tip of almond facing upwards)
将杏仁粒推入缝隙中,形成耳朵(杏仁粒尖端朝上)

IMG_9946dip at least three-quarter of the doughnut (almonds facing downwards) into the white chocolate
flip it back up and let it sit on parchment paper. chill till firm and repeat process one more time
杏仁粒朝下,将自少四分之三的甜甜圈沾入、裹上白巧
甜甜圈翻面、“耳朵”朝上,将其摆在烘焙纸上,冷藏直到巧克力凝固。此步骤重复多一次

IMG_9947whilst doughnut is chilling (after second coating), mix 4 tsp of espresso powder into the remaining white chocolate. mix well
甜甜圈冷藏当儿(既是二次裹上白巧后),将 4小匙浓缩咖啡粉加入剩余的白巧,搅拌均匀

IMG_9948once the chocolate firms up, hold doughnut, and tilt one end of it into the espresso chocolate

once again, chill till the chocolate firms up

Personal notes/温馨小贴士:

  • melt enough white chocolate so that it fills up the bowl (soup bowl). if you have too little white chocolate for dipping, you will end up trying to0 hard to cover the doughnut and get uneven coating
    白巧份量需足够填满一汤碗。如果白巧用少了,你会使劲在碗中刮出白巧,如此,裹上的效果会不均匀~“一搭一搭” 滴~不美哦

  • the above applies to the espresso chocolate. make sure you have enough white chocolate before mixing in the espresso powder. i use a medium soup bowl for this, and 4 tsp of espresso powder help me achieve the colour i wanted. so adjust this accordingly to how much white chocolate you have remaining, and according to the size of your bowl
